The Iyengar Yoga Association of Finland
The association was established in 2018 and currently has 23 certified Iyengar Yoga teachers in Finland.
The purpose of the association is to spread the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar and to uphold the teaching standards as stated in the constitution of the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI). The association works to advance and develop Iyengar yoga and its practice, therapy, knowledge of anatomy and yoga philosophy, teaching as well as help the spread of Iyengar yoga in Finland. The association is a connecting link between certified teachers, students in mentorship program, and other members. Additionally, the association is in contact with other Iyengar Yoga associations around the world.
The association has primary members (certified Iyengar Yoga teachers in Finland) and support members as well as student members. The membership fee is 20 euros for support members, and they receive discounts on classes and courses as well as the association’s newsletter.
The classes are typically held in Finnish; however, our certified teachers are capable in assisting you in English.
MONTHLY Iyengar Yoga classes – open for all
The association offers once a month a class open for all levels. It will be typically held the last Saturday of the month from 10 to 11:30 am at the association’s studio and online. Following the class, a beginner’s class will be offered from 12 – 1 pm (only in person at the studio). The address is Punavuorenkatu 4B (inner courtyard), Helsinki. The cost of a single class is 7 € for members of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Finland and 15 € for everyone else. The fee for the beginner’s class is 5 €.

May 21, 2025: Anjani Iyengar from Pune, India, will conduct a class on Wednesday from 19.15 – 20.45 at the studio. To register, send an email to info@iyengarjooga.fi. Additionally, she is teaching a workshop as part of the “Joogin tie” (Sadhaka) study program during May 23 – 25. The workshop is organized by Studioyama and held at Aleksanterin teatteri.
